BARBERING Level 2 & 3

City & Guilds Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Barbering - This qualification allows candidates to learn, develop and practice the skills required to provide Barbering services for all hair types. You could progress into employment or on to a Level 3 qualification where you can enhance the skills and knowledge that you have gained at Level 2 to progress into higher job roles. Entry requirements – desirable to hold a Grade 4/C or above for English and Maths but not essential.

City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Barbering - This qualification allows candidates to learn, stretch, develop and practice skills required to provide Barbering services for all hair types. Learners may progress to employment as a Senior Barber. Entry requirements – to hold a Level 2 in Barbering or Hairdressing and desirable to hold a Grade 4/C or above for English and Maths but not essential.

HAIRDRESSING Level 2 & 3

.City & Guilds Level 2 NVQ Diploma Hairdressing

MANDATORY UNITS

Advise and consult with clients.
Shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp.
Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work.
Style and finish hair.
Set and dress hair.
Cut hair using basic techniques.
Colour and lighten hair.

OPTIONAL UNITS

Cut men’s hair using basic techniques.

VRQ Level 2

City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Women’s Hairdressing Certificate

This course is designed to provide a good knowledge of basic hairdressing. It is for those who have a genuine interest in the profession and the ambition to succeed in this exciting industry. You will gain experience working in our Academy Salon and provide services to models/members of the public.

Our full Level 2 Certificate course which covers the following units:

Working in the hair industry
Health and safety in the salon
Client consultation for hair services
Shampoo and condition the hair and scalp
Art of dressing hair
Salon reception duties
Cut women’s hair

Progression Options:

On successful completion of this course, you may choose to progress to the Level 3 Hairdressing or Level 2 Barbering.

Booking conditions: we recommend you try and book your Hair Academy South West education courses as soon as possible as places may be limited and early booking will reserve your place. Cancellation of events by the Hair Academy South West: Hair Academy South West may cancel the event if a minimum number of bookings are not received. If the Hair Academy South West has cancelled a training event the fees will be refunded. HASW is not liable for any subsequent costs that are incurred as a result of cancellation. Cancellation of bookings by you: For those unable to attend an event, a substitute delegate may be sent at any time at no extra charge. The full fee will be payable where cancellation is made less than 2 weeks prior to the event. We must be notified of any cancellations. In all cases. Cancellations after the course has been invoiced will be charged at full rate. Charge for non- attendance at our events. Please note if you fail to turn up at the event for which you booked a place the full cost of the course will be charged.
