MEET THE TEAM

Hello I am Hannah McKay, Quality Assurance Director at Hair Academy South West.  I have worked in the education industry for over 15 years. I have been in a variety of roles within education, including working for an Awarding Organisation managing a large team checking quality assurance of regulated qualifications.

I joined HASW 5 years ago as the Funding Manager. Since then I have progressed to Quality Assurance Director. My role is to manage and ensure compliance for the funding of apprenticeships, traineeships and learner loans as well as manage the team within HASW and check the quality of education and training HASW provide is to an excellent standard.

Hello, my name is Clare Schofield, I have worked in the education sector for over 20 years and love being part of peoples learning journey. A lot of my experience was working for a large Awarding Organisation looking after Colleges and Training Providers and monitoring the quality assurance of their regulated qualifications.

I joined HASW 6 years ago as a Academy & Quality Coordinator. My role is to support and ensure compliance for the funding of apprenticeships, support and assist assessor teams with the quality of education and training. Alongside my quality role I am also responsible for the recruitment, welfare, and journey of our Private Learners.

My name is Macie Lee. I have been in the hairdressing industry for 11 years now.

I started as an apprentice at the Hair Academy achieving my Level 3 and then worked my way up through various positions and have built up a good range of clientele . Currently, I work at Sarah Hodge alongside my Educator role at the Academy. Whilst working in the industry I have experienced various elements of hairdressing such as trade shows and managing a salon. I was shortlisted and ranked top 10 in the Schwarzkopf Young Artistic Team in 2019 and really enjoy all elements of hairdressing. I enjoy being able to share my knowledge with others and watching them grow and blossom into individual stylists.

My name is Kim Petty and I am a Functional Skills Educator and Company Secretary at the Hair Academy South West

Hi, I’m Lois Morrissey I've been hairdressing for 7 years, I did both my Level 2 and 3 qualifications at the Hair Academy and have continued to grow my skills by going on any courses available to me. I have worked my way up to Senior Stylist within my salon and enjoy any opportunity to pass on my knowledge and skills to younger members of the team. I have recently achieved my assessor qualification and look forward to growing my career within the Hair Academy.

Hello I’m Jordy Pugsley, I’ve been in the industry for 8 years. My career started as a Hairdressing apprentice with Sarah Hodge, where I completed my Level 2 and Level 3 Hairdressing qualifications. I then began to develop a strong passion for cutting men’s hair, so I went and gained my Level 3 in Barbering at College.

As well as my Educator role, I also work in a busy barbershop where I really enjoy spending time with my team and clients. Watching my clients leave the shop with smiles on their faces and feeling confident, makes my job all worth the while.
